SERVICES

What We Offer

WMD | Precision provides manufacturing services for customers who already have a finished design, 3D model, drawing, or other production-ready file.

At this time, we do not offer design or drawing services to the general public. Our focus is on manufacturing existing designs and producing our own original shooting sport accessories and novelty items.

We are also interested in hearing your ideas for new shooting sport accessories and novelty products. While we do not provide custom design services based on customer ideas, submitted concepts may help inspire future WMD | Precision products.

Have a Design You Want Manufactured?

We welcome inquiries from individuals, businesses, and organizations looking to have an existing design manufactured.

You can contact us with:

  • 3D model or CAD files
  • Technical drawings
  • STL or other 3D-printing files
  • Desired quantity
  • Any other information relevant to manufacturing your part

We will review the information you provide and let you know whether we can manufacture the item and what production options are available.

How the Manufacturing Process Works

1. Submit Your Request

Contact WMD | Precision using the web form below or by email at wrightmechanicaldesign@gmail.com.

Provide a detailed description of what you would like manufactured and include any relevant files. The more information you can provide, the more accurately we can evaluate your request.

2. Request Review

Our team will review your request and normally respond within 3 business days.

Our response may include recommendations regarding manufacturing methods, materials, quantities, or other considerations that may help achieve the desired result.

A consultation may be required where additional information is needed before an estimate can be prepared.

Note: A consultation fee may apply to in-person consultations.

3. Written Estimate

Once the requirements are understood, WMD | Precision will provide a written estimate outlining the anticipated manufacturing cost and estimated completion date.

Unless otherwise stated, estimates will remain within ±25% of the estimated cost for the original scope of work. Changes to the design, quantity, material, specifications, or scope after acceptance may require a revised estimate.

A 35% deposit is required to secure a production position and authorize work to begin.

4. Initial Production and Acceptance

For new manufacturing projects, an initial item or small production run may be completed first for review and acceptance.

Once the first item has been completed, an acceptance review can be conducted to confirm that the manufactured product meets the agreed requirements.

Upon acceptance, production of additional quantities can proceed.

5. Final Invoice and Shipping

Once manufacturing is complete, WMD | Precision will provide a final invoice covering the applicable:

  • Setup fees
  • Manufacturing costs
  • Shipping

Once the final invoice has been paid in full, your order will be shipped using your selected carrier or shipping method.

Manufacturing Rates & Limitations

3D Printing

Maximum Part Dimensions: 325 × 320 × 325 mm

Material Rate
PLA $5 CAD/hour
PETG $7 CAD/hour
Nylon, ASA & other specialty polymers $10+ CAD/hour

Setup Fee: $10 CAD per new print file

The setup fee covers the labour associated with importing, preparing, and tuning the supplied 3D-printing file for production. Filament/material costs are included in the applicable hourly printing rate.

Discounts may be available for individual parts with exceptionally long print times or for larger quantities of identical parts. Material selection is subject to machine capabilities, part geometry, application requirements, and material availability.

Machine Shop & Fabrication

Machine shop and fabrication work is completed through third-party manufacturing partners. WMD | Precision works with established contacts within the machining and fabrication industry and will coordinate the manufacturing process to obtain an appropriate production solution at a competitive price.

Pricing can vary significantly depending on:

  • Part complexity
  • Quantity
  • Dimensions
  • Material
  • Required tolerances
  • Machining or fabrication processes
  • Finishing requirements
  • Production schedule

Where practical, WMD | Precision will coordinate the fabrication process and provide a package price that includes applicable manufacturing and shipping costs.
